Versailles Lavender Earl Grey and Russian Earl Grey

Ver. Lavender Earl GreyVersailles Lavender Earl Grey

This tea is named after the famous chateau built by the King of France Louis XIV ,conjuring up images of unbelievable opulence.  Louis XIV was always known for his fondness for fresh lavender from the French countryside and was so fond of it that he demanded to be bathed in lavender scented water very morning. So, when it came time to blend a tea in honour of this ancient royal, it only seemed fitting that we blend it with the King’s favourite flower.

This tea is a special blend of Highgrown Ceylon Orange Pekoe tea delicately combing oil of bergamot with cornflowers and the finest scent of French Provence lavender. When brewed, this tea has a delicate floral bouquet that compliments the citrus character of Earl Grey’s bergamot beautifully with a bright and coppery liquor and an intoxicating sweet aroma. A truly an exceptional tea for fans of Earl Grey.

Russian Earl Grey

Russian Earl Grey

A wonderful loose leaf Earl Grey tea spiced up with the addition of Thai lemongrass and  Spanish oranges. We use a blend of high grown Ceylon Orange Pekoe teas and China black teas from the Anhui Province. In keeping with Russian tradition we’ve added sweet orange peel and a mellowing herb- all natural lemongrass, in addition to the tart character of bergamot, (the citrus fruit used to flavour all Earl Greys). B

rew using boiling water and infuse for 3 to 5 minutes to reveal a delicious smooth tea with delicate notes of citrus with a liquor that  is bright and golden with a reddish colour

Add a splash of milk to really bring out the citrus overtones of this blend- or, add some sugar. Either way, this is one tea you’ll want to savour all day long.
