Grand Marnier Tea

Grand Marnier Teacrop

Our Grand Marnier flavoured tea is based on a blend of Ceylon teas from the tea growing districts of Dimbula, Uva and Nuwara Eliya and to this we add the delicious taste and flavour of orange liquor!

Grand Marnier is the most famous French liqueur which is an unexpected melange of Cognac and juicy orange and the combinations was discovered by Louis Alexandre Marnier-Lapostolle, while experimenting in this laboratory at Neauphle-le-Chateau, in 1880. At the time of its debut, Grand Marnier was considered something of a sacrilege by French purists who believed that the pure flavour of Cognac should never have been altered by the addition of fresh west Indian orange peel.

The high-grown districts produce teas that have classic ‘Ceylon’ tea character, noted by floral bouquet and flavour notes, touches of astringency and bright coppery colour. This is prefect for the base of flavoured teas and this tea works very well as an after dinner brew

Brew with boiling water and infuse for 3 to 7 minutes.
