Dao Hong Pao CROPED

Da Hong Pao is a rare Chinese black tea which is sometimes called China rock tea. Splendid very large dark leaves give this tea a real exotic look and when brewed the liquor is rich golden bright with floral smoky notes. A real connoisseurs tea!

Da Hong Pao actually means “Big Red Robe” in English. According to legend, the mother of a Ming Dynasty emperor was cured of an illness by a certain tea, and that emperor sent great red robes to clothe the four bushes from which that tea originated. Three of these original bushes, growing on a rock on Mount Wuyi and reportedly dating back to the Song Dynasty, still survive today and are highly venerated.

Brew with boiling water and infuse for 3 to 5 minutes.
